Genevieve M. Wickman, 96, of Janesville, WI died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center in Janesville. She was born in Janesville on February 4, 1915, the daughter of John and Frances (Hess) Lewis. She graduated from Janesville High School. On October 9, 1942, Genevieve joined the U.S.Navy WAVES and served until October 5, 1945. On August 2, 1958, Genevieve married (William) Wilson Wickman at First Baptist Church in Sturgeon Bay, WI. They moved to Sunnyside Village, Sarasota, FL in 1986. She returned to Janesville and has resided at Cedar Crest the past 5 years. Over the years, Genevieve was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church in Janesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Wickman on September 15, 1996. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Helen McLay, Marjorie Wentler and her brother, E. Frank Lewis. She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at Cedar Crest Chapel, 1700 South River Road, Janesville. Visitation will be at the Cedar Crest Chapel from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Washington Island Cemetery, Door County, WI. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Church, Washington Island, WI.
